Background: Prior investigators have proposed the correlation between experience and expression of anger with depression, anxiety and stress. The purpose of the present study was to determine the correlation between experience and expression of anger with depression, anxiety and stress.
Materials and methods: For this cross sectional study, 107 Shahid Beheshti University students were randomly selected. The present study was correlational. Assessed by State and Trait Anger Expression Inventory-2 (STAXI-2) and depression anxiety and stress scales (DASS).
Results: Results Stepwise regression analysis revealed State anger, Anger expression-In and Trait Anger were predicted of depression, State anger and Anger expression-In were predicted of anxiety and Trait Anger, Anger expression-In and State anger were predicted of stress.
Conclusion: Results this study cans considerable for university counseling centers, issues relating to depression, anxiety and stress are of considerable interest to therapists in their attempts to understand the interpersonal and intrapersonal dynamics of depression, anxiety and stress in their clients.
