Background: The objective of the current research was to determine the relationship between parenting styles and pro-social behaviours (particularly respecting to rules) among pre-school children in Tehran's pre-school centres. Materials and Methods: 394 children whom were enrolled in this study and their mother's, were randomly selected through a multi-stage cluster sampling. Pro-social behaviours of children was assessed by means of teacher's rating checklist of pro-social behaviours and parenting styles was assessed by means of parenting style questionnaire. Results: Findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between authorative parenting style and pro-social behaviours. Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, there is a significant relationship between parenting styles and pro-social behaviours of children, especially their respect to rules.
