An Investigation on the Beginning of Making of Spectacles in 4-3 Millennia BC and Its Comparison with Modern Spectacles

Background and Aim: Different studies indicate that (specially Iranian) have always tried to overcome life problems, mostly vision problems, and find enough information about vision mechanism and ability of eye to see. It is transparent, like a glass, and the images of the environment fall on it. This made them to try to find out how to invent the spectacles. Materials and methods: The present study involves a field study as well as measurements, visiting libraries, museums, and research centers, and includes reference to professors working at encyclopedia circles and cultural section of embassies. Results: During our searches a pair of spectacles made of bone was found on the face of skeleton of a young female in a grave 4-3 millennia B C. ‍Conclusion: The human being was able to correct refractive errors as they were recognized in disturbing factors including environment, cataract, and strabismus
